Let me you in on a secret. Or at least … I thought it was a secret. I have a hearing loss. I thought I was the only one that noticed it … but I wasn’t. My wife, kids and co-workers they all knew it. My hearing loss is not severe. It's like trying to read in a dimly lit room. I can hear most things, but I really have to strain.
Millions of people suffer from some level of hearing loss. It’s very common.
I stated noticing my problem a few years ago when I had to turn the volume up on the television set. It was also difficult for me to use the telephone, because I couldn’t get the volume loud enough. And in crowded rooms, it was almost impossible for me to have a one-on-one conversation.
I’m not sure “how” or “when” my problem started. It more than likely has something to do the volume of the headphones I wear. I have worked in radio for 28 years.
About 6 months ago I decided to visit on the Whisper Hearing Centers. In one short visit (and a couple of re-checks) they solved my hearing problem! They also educated me on how to prevent future hearing loss. I wear OTICON DUEL hearing aids. They are so small; people are surprised when they find out that I’m wearing them. When I first put on my new hearing aids, I could not believe what I heard (and what I had been missing).
My wife and I had a chance to go to a BROADWAY PLAY in NYC a week ago. It was great!! And, it was the 1st time (in a long time) that I could hear everything happing on stage! Not once did I have to ask Andrea (my wife) to repeat something.
I could not be happier with the staff and the services I have received from the Whisper Hearing Centers. I encourage anyone to call and see how they can solve their hearing prpblem.
